KIND WORDS

I haven't blogged in a while. Please, forgive me, my lovely readers! Wedding season is in full swing. I promise to blog several sneak previews in the next few days though ;-)
For now I'd just to share some kind words about Exhibit Emotions Photography)) As a photographer I'm blessed with lovely couples I meet and photograph. Most of the time we have similar personalities and we get friendly, so when I work with them I always want to do my best, as if I help out my best friends. Ariel and Pete are one of those couples. Very warm and welcoming people, and it was such a pleasure to work with them)) Here is what Ariel wrote about me for the feature on Rock My Wedding blog:

"It took a few days to fall upon Dasha’s website Exhibit Emotions.  As soon as I read her story about how she met her husband, I knew she would understand our international wedding plight.  Plus her photos were beautiful and she had done an Art Deco-inspired shoot I could stare at for hours.  When I contacted her and presented my idea, she immediately responded that she would love to do an “I do, re-do” shoot.  I loved that.  It was exactly what we were thinking, without the actual “I do” renewal (or the big white dress).  She went out of her way to meet with me a few days before the shoot and spent, like, five hours in the blazing sun with us, waiting for the light to get ‘just right.’  Obviously, she nailed it!  She made us feel very comfortable, although we don’t have too much trouble hamming it up.  And to top it off, she saved the day.  When I realized I was too late to buy a bouquet and a bit upset, she spotted a gorgeous lavender bush and, after taking some great shots with it in the foreground, picked a bunch of it for me.  Perfect.
When we got the photos from her (an unbelievable week later) she had managed to make it look like we had Greenwich all to ourselves.  There were hundreds of people roaming the streets and green spaces but in these photos it is just us two celebrating each other and our marriage.  In that way, I guess it was an “I do” renewal, or maybe just a reminder."

Thank you so much, Ariel! It was a pleasure ;)

MODERN VINTAGE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY - VINTAGE INSPIRED WEDDING FASHION SHOOT

For a while I've been teasing everyone on this blog and also on Twitter&Facebook about some of my projects. Today I can finally reveal the first one (there will be two more, so don't go far ;-) ).
When I moved to London, I became a big fan of Love My Dress wedding blog. Annabel, beautiful lady behind this blog, writes about vintage inspired wedding and bridal inspiration (make sure you check out her blog, as it is truly stunning and offers so much information for brides to be). So, I started following her blog closely. One day I read a feature about vintage headband and accessories designer Yulia Kunze . Name sounded very familiar and I got in touch. While chatting about all things weddings, we decided to do a shoot together. Yulia wanted to showcase her beautiful hair jewellery, and I... well, I don't need an excuse to photograph gorgeousness)). The inspiration behind the shoot came from art deco era. However, we didn't want to do something details oriented. Less is more was our approach. We wanted to achieve elegant, chic, art deco inspired , couture look. We got fantastic team involved (which, if you are a bride to be, you should totally do!). Steph from Fairy Nuff Flowers made 2 beautiful wedding bouquets. Stunning dresses were provided by Adamo Bridal boutique , impeccable makeup applied by London wedding airbrush makeup artist Mariam Jensen (she does magic, trust me!) and hair styled by wedding hair designer Cassandra. I must say Mariam and Cassandra are absolutely brilliant at what they do. They paid attention to every single detail to achieve complete look for models, and that's exactly what we wanted! One Marylebone - wedding venue in London was perfect for us. Its Galleries have huge windows and are flooded with natural light - just what we were looking for to showcase gorgeous wedding dresses and the whole attire.
It was a pleasure to work with such a fantastic team and photograph everyone's creations. If you are a bride to be - check everyone out, cannot recommend highly enough!
Feel free to leave comments below and let me know what you think about styling))
Happy Tuesday!

FEATURED: PHOTOPRO MAGAZINE

This post is loooong looong overdue! But better late than never :-). Together with my friend Antonina Mamzenko (who is a brilliant family photographer based in London) I have been featured in the September issue of Photo Pro Magazine (the UK's biggest and fastest growing magazine for professional photographers)! Happy dance! They dedicated the whole page to our interview about the shoot we did a while ago. There is a photo of yours truly in the top right corner :-). When the issue was out for sale, I walked into our local newsagent and bought all the copies they had. I sent one to my mum and although I didn't see her reaction, but she sounded very proud over the phone! Soon after that I traveled to Ireland for the engagement shoot with Lena and David (whose wedding I'll photograph next May). When I was waiting for my plane in the airport, I noticed a guy (well, he was more of a man) who was reading the magazine and our interview! Made me feel a little bit famous! :-)

PHOTOGRAPHY PARLOUR TUESDAY GET TOGETHER - MODEL PHOTOSHOOT

Omg, where do I even start describing the whole amazingness, fabulousness and greatness of the day?! On tuesday I went to Bristol for a photographers meet up organized by Rosie Parsons from The Photography Parlour which is a great web-resource for aspiring photographers and a place to connect with people from your industry. There were about 30 of us from all over the country. Photographers of different ages, backgrounds and experinces got together for a fun day of shooting, learning from each other and connecting. I felt it before, but this kind of events make me realise even more how great our community is! We don't see each other as competitors, we see each other as friends, that's why if you need help you know that there is always someone there for you. I am very VERY proud to be part of it!
So, on the day we had a venue, models, make-up artists, our cameras and we were in Bristol's floating harbour. What did we do with all that? We mixed it all up, added a bit of great weather and started shooting! We were organised in groups and had a chance to spend time with different models, so at the end of the day we were left with loadz of great images! Below are some of mine from the day:
